Training Plans & Programs

Race Day Domination's core package is a progressive program built to take a racer from a beginner foundation to obstacle-ready condition, with dedicated attention to strength relative to bodyweight and mental toughness.

The Core Program

The centerpiece is a structured, progressive training plan described as a 24-week course of workouts. Sessions run 45-60 minutes and increase in frequency from three to five times per week as the plan advances. Program materials note that duration and structure have also been described elsewhere as a 12-week comprehensive and progressive plan, so treat the exact length as approximate rather than fixed.

Rather than treating an obstacle race like a generic fitness test, the plan layers in the specific skills racers meet on course: running, lifting, climbing, grip-strength, jumping, and landing, along with balance, lower-limb strength, and coordination under load.

Kettlebell & Equipment-Based Training

Workouts are written for commercial fitness centers or home gyms and call on equipment such as Olympic weight sets, pull-up bars, and kettlebells. Kettlebell-specific drills are woven throughout the program to build grip and functional strength useful for climbing and carrying obstacles.

  • Over 120 instructional exercise videos demonstrating correct form.
  • A companion Guide to Healthy Eating and Fueling, with no requirement for expensive supplements.
  • Drills targeting climbing, grip-strength, jumping, and landing technique.

Who It's Built For

The plan is aimed at people preparing for obstacle races, mud runs, and adventure challenges — from Tough Mudder and Spartan Race to Warrior Dash-style events. Training methods were used and refined with the Hybrid Race Team at the Hybrid Athlete facility before being organized into the program's current form.
